Well, as some of you guys might remember, I was formerly known as Fernando Mooncry on the old forums.
Always posting noob questions, barely 4 games under my belt ever. Army never fully painted, then I disappeared for some time. 6th took away my desire to play. 8th brought it back.
Now I'm back to the hobby, dove back in the old forums just to find it almost deserted and with that dreaded photobucket problem that crippled the usability of it for good.
We where in agreement that a new forum was in order to try and save the community. As I have had some previous experience creating and managing forums, I took it upon myself to do it. I'm a little rusty but in time I think we'll have a proper experience here....

You played before the 6th, that makes You a veteran anyway.

Neat idea with the v2.0 *thumbs-up*

I started collecting when 4th was ending, learned the rules, had nobody to play with in my city, closest ones where 2 hours away. Then 5th came, new codex, learned the game again, but this time I discovered another loner 40k mini owner (we couldn't call ourselves players yet), he owned a Macragge box, he still has not finished painting his 'Nids after all those years and after some 4 games of 5th we got bored, his Smurfs always took a beating because he didn't learn tactics at all, never learned from his mistakes...
Well, the whole RPG and boardgame scene grew a lot since then in my city, what used to be 2 stores are now 5 that I'm aware of, a big anime event that has space for playing, etc. but still not a 40k scene, but I'm introducing the game to some friends, they are planning to start armies later this year.

Start small - it's difficult enough to convince people to invest in models-heavy (thus expensive) system, but stuff like Shadow War Armageddon, especially with better campaign system, works like a charm.
