Well, these pics are of some of the work in progress models I had for my Winter guard army. Some of them are complete now, but I enjoy seeing the before paint just as much as after, cause it shows all the work involved in how conversions are done. I based the look on more western style parkas rather than Russian long coats, to give the army a unique look.

Here's an example of how adding just a few details to metal models can really tie them to larger scale conversions so they fit in better:

Here's how just a little facial hair can add more variety to squads so they don't have the same faces:

Here are some quick tutorials on how to sculpt some of the winter clothing:

And once you've got a system down, just make an assembly line, you'll be surprised how quickly you can do the same shit over and over and fill out a squad really fast.

Here's an objective marker I made to match the theme:

and a scale shot:

That's all for now, I have a ton more pictures, but I'm having trouble sorting through all the crappy shots and all the pics I have of them painted are pretty washed out, so I'm going to retake the pics with better lighting.

This is really good work. I have to say that I'm most impressed with how the addition of the fur lining on the metal minis really changed them up.

I think he got lost on the path to his garage to take the pictures and we'll never see or hear anything from him ever again, kkkk Just kidding, I know what it feels to drag along things to do in this hobby, I've started building a Hellhound 3 weeks ago and it's exactly like I left it that day, not to talk about repainting my stuff, didn't even buy the paints....

Amazing work! Almost a cross between Valhallans and Cadians. Do you sculpt immediately after mixing or do you let it sit for a while?
