As far as LRMBT goes, I reckon it's better to get the extra shot at the cost of half speed (most targets will survive first hit anyway) than to get just a re-roll for free.

As I understand it, that's not a regiment thing, that's the new Grinding Advance rule for all Russes. So Catachans get both.

Exactly, universal for all LR's, then it stacks with the Catachan rule

Sounds enticing enough to consider switching Basilisks for Russes.

Anyway, Vostroyan focus left me kinda underwhelmed. I mean, heirloom weapons will be usefull on larger and more open tables, and put lasgun on par range-wise w/the Tau rifles (guess Vostroyans are still being portrayed as main antiTau regiment), but I doubt there'll be an actuall difference between 48" and 54" on heavy weapons on any but most parking-lot styled tables.

And Repel the Enemy is actually detrimental to the Guard, as it means own squads will effectively shield opponent from incoming fire. We already have a generic order to fire after falling back, so I really struggle to imagine circumstances where RtE would be of use.

Preview of the Valhallans here:

The most interesting part to me though: "Tomorrow, in the last of our previews of the codex, we’ll be checking out the armies of Armageddon"

Obviously more geared towards mechanized infantry armies than tank heavy armies. Makes me wonder if one of the regiments in the new codex will be more tank-focused?

I was wondering that myself. I hope so but off the top of my head I can' think of anything in the lore that would obviously lend itself to that.

Maybe Tallarn.... They're still in stock and where not mentioned yet and their fluff supports it as far as I remember

I'm heading out so I don't have time to watch it all now, but enjoy!

From all I've heard and read, 8th will be a great edition for us.

Have you guys noticed some price drops along all metal regiments except Tallarn? Well, I might speculate that this along with some re-boxing bundles of vehicles + squads and defence forces might indicate maybe they are clearing stock of those to replace them with new models.....
