Just as I started writing this, I checked BOLS and it looks like a November release:

So with the "when" out of the way, have any of you heard anything about what it will be like?
I'm guessing a conscript nerf, hoping for buffed Russes (Vanquishers in particular!), cheaper Chimeras and maybe some vehicle upgrades to give it all a bit more flavor.

Sad part is, this article seems more lore-friendly and serious than GW since the beginning of Gathering Storm.

If there's anything I'd like to see, it's the return of infantry platoons. Yet one does realise it's way too complicated a concept for 8th edition.

Also, it's quite possible the convenient Guard-Genestealer Cult combo will be nerfed into requiring both Guard and Cult codexes.

I'm hoping our anti-tank-specialist tank can be helped. I'd like to see some of my former Troops infantry go back to being Troops.

The new Grinding Advance is a huge buff to all Leman Russes. Yuge!

It really makes armored company type things useful again. I'm wondering what modeling requirements might be expected to show affiliation with a specific regiment since they're producing rules for eight of them.

Better overwatch is quite powerfull against melee units just as well. And execution squads are going to be somewhat problematic for anyone going character heavy.

This makes catachans simply tame by comparison - merely extra S and random amount of hits reroll.

The Catachan reroll could be useful for double-flamer Chimeras, Hellhounds and of course LRBT's.

A total of 8 regiments will get these kinds of Doctrines.

As far as LRMBT goes, I reckon it's better to get the extra shot at the cost of half speed (most targets will survive first hit anyway) than to get just a re-roll for free.

This, of course, is mostly a matter of preference in vehicles, as Mordians get the bonus only for Russes, while Catachans get theirs for all vehicles.

And regardless, while Catachans do get some flamers bonus, afaik it doesn't adress main weakness of flamers - extremely short range.

Yes, and as far as regiments go, Vostroyans will be posted today. Then we get 3 of the 8. Considering the images on this:
https://www.warhammer-community.com/201 ... new-codex/
they suggest Savlar Chemdogs, Indigan Praefects and Ventrillian Nobles (all based on conversions of Cadians + bits from other kits GW sells).
The scheduling on the posts of the Mechanicus Codex suggests it's an announcement of a codex on Sunday, then 5 out of the 8 doctrines are revealed from Monday to Friday and then the pre-order on Saturday, seeing as they are doing something similar with our beloved Astra Militarum, and we know for a fact that Cadians are one of the 8 even if they don't show us that yet....

At the end, a preview of tomorrow's post states:
Don’t miss tomorrow’s preview, where we’ll be looking at the Valhallans, the highly anticipated changes to conscripts, and the return of a classic and much-loved rule…
It seems like Chenkov and "Send in the next wave!" are back, my people!
