Given the alternatives for quads are scratchbuilding (loads of measuring and work) or buying some defence line sets (expensive), e-bay seems the reasonable choice.

What do you guys think of these? price seems good.

Or these, although, apparently the guns are fixed and so don't elevate.

Also, what are you guys doing for wound counters for vehicles? I thought something like these might work but they're not cheap considering how many I'lll need for a big game.

I've just been using dice to mark wounds, as it's what we've always done for characters/creatures with multiple wounds, but there are a LOT more wounds to keep track of now in 8th.
Those wound counters seem handy.

Imo second one looks better - flatter silhouette not only is more reasonable, but also easier to transport. Lack of barrel elevation is hardly a problem, it's a model after all, not a working Hydra.

As for wound counters, a d20 (or two in case of knights and superheavies) work well enough, are much cheaper and take far less space on table. I'd suggest never using d6 (or, in case of other systems, any die used in-game), as those might be accidently picked for rolls.

Makoto gots a damn fine point, don't be like Mo, Mo has a lot of fiddly bits on his models and is slowly going insane from transport issues.
